FAQ

Is Kings All Ages?
Most shows at Kings are all ages. Some shows may be 18+ or 21+. It will be specifically noted in the show listing on the calendar and you should check in advance.

Does Kings have seating?
There are about 20 bar stools and benches that seat about 15–20 more people. Our shows are basically “standing room only”. Occasionally, for game show nights, stand up comedy events, lectures, movie nights or presentations we fill the middle of the room with folding chairs.

Do I need a membership?
Not anymore! Now that the Garland is up and running, we don’t have to have memberships, as required by NC law.

Where can I buy advance tickets for shows at Kings?
You can find advance tickets at Etix.com. Shows that don’t have advance tickets will have all tickets available at the door.

I’m supposed to be on the guest list…
If you are supposed to be on a guest list, be sure you know who who has put you on the list. It is also a good idea to confirm with that person that you are on the list 24 hours before the show. Valid ID is always required at Kings and is required to get in with advance tickets for the will call list. We are not responsible for mistakes made by band members, radio stations, or other promotional groups.

When is Kings open and what are the usual show and set times?
Kings is open on show nights only. Shows generally begin 30 minutes to one hour after doors open. The door time and show start time are listed with each show on the website. Generally, doors open around 9pm.  However, please refer to the individual listing for each show to be certain of dates and times.

What are my payment options?
Cash is required for entry into Kings. There is an ATM across the street at RBC and several others within 2 blocks. The bar accepts Visa and Mastercard.

How do we feel about scalping tickets?
We have a zero tolerance policy for ticket scalping. If you are caught reselling tickets above the original price, your tickets will be voided and you will not be allowed to purchase tickets to any further shows at Kings. Furthermore, tickets that are bought through scalpers are not valid.  However, it is fine to resell tickets at the ORIGINAL price if you can no longer attend the show.

Is there re-entry?
You can usually re-enter but you should confirm with the doorman before exiting the building.

Are there any other fees?
There is a $2 surcharge for people who are under the age of 21 for some shows. Some touring shows do not have surcharges.

Bought “print at home” tickets online but don’t have a printer?
We’ll still let you in, just email us at info@kingsbarcade.com and let us know. You can also purchase “Will Call” tickets and we will have your name at the door.

What video games do you have?
The old Kings had a number of video games because one of our owners collected them and the space was more open and roomier. The new Kings doesn’t have the space to hold any games but the name stuck. However, our basement bar, Neptunes has a few games which rotate occasionally. Currently a 4 player teenage mutant ninja turtle and Karate Champ are the two vintage games along with a multicade. Plus South Park Pinball.
